The cabinet is shipped bolted to awooden pallet (see Figure 3‐8) and protected with outer protective packagingmaterial.W A R N I N GThe UPS cabinet is heavy (see Table 3‐1 on page 3-2). If unpacking and unloading instructions are notclosely followed, the cabinet may tip and cause serious injury.C A U T I O NTo prevent damage to the wiring channel and wiring in the UPS cabinet base when lifting or moving thecabinet: Lift and move the cabinet using only the front or rear forklift slots. Verify that the forklift forks are in a horizontal position before inserting them into the forklift slots.DO NOT angle fork tips upward. Insert the forks all the way through the base. DO NOT insert forks partially into the base to move thecabinet. Forks may be partially inserted into the front or rear forklift slots for minor positioning if the forks arekept in a horizontal position with no upward angling. DO NOT use the forklift slots on the end of the cabinet to move the cabinet. End forklift slots may be used for minor positioning if the forks are kept in a horizontal position with noupward angling.If these instructions are not followed, damage to the wiring channel and wiring will occur.1. Carefully inspect the outer packaging for evidence of damage during transit.C A U T I O NDo not install a damaged cabinet. Report any damage to the carrier and contact an Eaton servicerepresentative immediately.NOTE For the following step, verify that the forklift or pallet jack is rated to handle the weight of thecabinet (see Table 3‐1 on page 3-2 for cabinet weight).2. Use a forklift or pallet jack to move the packaged cabinet to the installation site,or as close as possible, before unpacking. If possible, move the cabinet using thepallet. Insert the forklift or pallet jack forks from the right side of the pallet (facingthe cabinet), between the supports on the bottom of the pallet (see Figure 3‐6 onpage 3-6 for the UPS cabinet center of gravity measurements). If the cabinetmust be moved using the cabinet front or rear fork lift slots, see the cautionstatement at the beginning of this procedure.C A U T I O NDo not tilt the UPS cabinet more than 10° from vertical or the cabinet may tip over.3. Set the pallet on a firm, level surface, allowing a minimum clearance of 3m (10 ft)on each side for removing the cabinet from the pallet.NOTE The UPS cabinet is shipped with debris shields covering the ventilation grills on top of the unit.Do not remove the debris shield until installation is complete.
