Verify the UPS system is turned off and all power sources are removed. SeeChapter 7, “UPS Operating Instructions,” for shutdown instructions.2. Perform the procedure listed in paragraph 5.1 on page 5-1.NOTE If mounting to a hollow wall, secure the enclosure to a wood or metal stud within the wall. Do notuse hollow wall anchors.3. Securely mount the RIM II at the desired location. See Figure 5‐13 on page 5-16for mounting hole locations.NOTE When installing signal wiring for CAN card J3 terminals, conduit must be installed between thedevice and the UPS cabinet.4. Remove the UPS cabinet top interface conduit landing plates to drill or punchconduit holes (see Figure 4‐4 on page 4-8).5. Reinstall the conduit landing plate.6. Install conduit between the UPS and RIM II. See Figure 5‐13 on page 5-16 forRIM II knockout hole location.7. Install wiring between the UPS and RIM II. See Figure 5‐2 and Table 5‐1 for thePowerware Hot Sync CAN Bridge Card terminal location and wiring information,and Figure 5‐7, Figure 5‐8, and Table 5‐5 for the RIM II terminal location andwiring information.NOTE 120 Vac for the RIM II should be supplied from the critical bus by facility planners or the customer.8. Install 120 Vac power wiring from the critical bus to the RIM II. See Figure 5‐7,Figure 5‐8, and Table 5‐5 for the terminal location and wiring information.9. Close the front door and secure the latch.10. If removed, reinstall the safety shield panel removed in paragraph 5.1, Step 5.Secure with the retained hardware.11. If removed, reinstall the left front panel removed in paragraph 5.1, Step 4 andsecure with the retained hardware.12. Restart the UPS. See Chapter 7, “UPS Operating Instructions,” for startupinstructions.NOTE Setup of the Powerware Hot Sync CAN Bridge Card must be performed by an authorized EatonCustomer Service Engineer. Contact an Eaton service representative to schedule a date.13. Contact an Eaton service representative for verification and testing of the RIM IIand its connections prior to making connections with J1 through J4 (seeTable 5‐6 and Figure 5‐9).You can order interface cables separately for connecting to the 15‐Pin D‐SubConnectors.
