INSTALLATIONEATON Powerware® 9140 UPS (7.5–10 kVA) User’s Guide S 164201622 Rev A FINAL DRAFT 14-Jul-200642UPS InstallationFor the PW9140 10000 or PW9140 7500 model, see the followingsection, “Plug-Receptacle UPS Installation.”For the PW9140 10000 HW or PW9140 7500 HW model, see“Hardwired UPS Installation” on page 46.Plug-Receptacle UPS InstallationNOTE Do not make unauthorized changes to the UPS; otherwise, damage may occur toyour equipment and void your warranty.The Powerware 9140 plug-receptacle models require a dedicated branchcircuit that meets the following requirements:S 60A (10 kVA models) or 50A (7.5 kVA models) circuit with short circuitand overcurrent protectionS 200–240 VacS 50/60 HzS The breaker must be wall-mounted and be readily accessible to theoperatorS Flexible metal conduit (recommended for ease of service andmaintenance)To install a plug-receptacle UPS:1. Verify that all circuit breakers are in the OFF (O) position.2. If you are installing power management software, connect yourcomputer to the USB port, UPS communication port, or optionalX-Slot card (see page 69). For the communication port, use thesupplied serial cable.3. If your rack has conductors for grounding or bonding of ungroundedmetal parts, connect the ground cable (not included) to the groundbonding screw. See Figure 27 on page 44 for the location of theground bonding screw.
