Maintenance/Servicing10.1 GeneralThe relevant national regulations which apply to themaintenance/servicing of electrical apparatus inexplosive atmospheres, shall be observed (IEC/EN60079-17). The interval between maintenancedepends upon the ambient conditions and the hoursof operation. The recommendations given within IEC60079-17 for recurring checks must be observed.10.2 ChecksThe equipment must be de-energised before openingVisual inspection should be carried out at a minimumof 12 monthly intervals and more frequently ifconditions are severe, refer to IEC/EN 60079-17. Thetime between lamp changes could be very infrequentand this is too long a period without inspection.10.3 Routine ExaminationDuring maintenance, the parts affecting the level ofprotection must be checked in particular:- Ensure the lamp is lit when energised and examinethe enclosure and glass for any signs of cracks anddamage.- When de-energised and left to cool, there should beno significant sign of internal moisture. If there aresigns of water ingress, the luminaire should be openedup, dried out, and any likely ingress points eliminatedby re-gasketing, re-greasing or other replacement.- Check the gasket of terminal chamber gasket and LEDhousing for any damage or permanent set and replaceas required.- To maintain the light output, clean the protectiveglass periodically with a damp cloth or a mild cleaningfluid.- If this product is used in the combustible dust area, outside of enclosure must be cleaned on a regularbasis to prevent accumulation of dust.- Terminal, screw glands and blanking plugs for securefitting.- The terminal chamber should be opened periodicallyand checked for moisture and dirt ingress. The cableconnections should be checked for tightness. Thegasket should be checked for cracks or lack ofelasticity, and if necessary, replaced. Cover bolttorque: 1.5~2Nm.- The flameproof path can not be readily checked, itwill not go out of shape.- The battery should be charged and discharged onceevery 6 months.- Check that mountings are secure and the adjustingbolts are tight.- If it has been suspected that the luminaire hasmechanical damage, a stringent workshop overhaulwill be required. Where spares are needed, these mustbe replaced with factory specified parts. No modifications should be made without theknowledge and approval of the manufacturer.Cleaning the rests of grease and corrosion do not usesharp metallic devices that can damage the threads ofthe joint, and greasing them using appropriate greaseterminally and chemically stable with a droppoint≥200℃ like e.g.: HTL lubricant from CooperCrouse-Hinds! When the housing need to be repainted, pay attention that the flameproof joints test withoutany part with coating!11. Repair/Overhaul/Modifications11.1 GeneralThe national regulations EN/IEC60079-19 have to beobserved! Repairs and overhaul may only be carriedout with genuine Cooper Crouse-Hinds spare parts. Before replacing or disassembling individual parts, observe the following:Disconnect the power supply to the equipment beforemaintenance/repair.Make sure that there is no explosive atmospherewhen opening the equipment. See section 8.4 fornotes on opening and closing the lamp.Battery pack replacement:In the case of battery failure, the battery pack must bereplaced as a complete unit from the manufacturer.First, open the cover, then change the failure battery, last, close the cover.Only use original spare parts. If the luminaire waspreviously in operation then wait to cool enoughbefore opening. Repairs that affect the explosionprotection, may only be carried out by CooperCrouse-Hinds or a qualified electrician in compliancewith the applicable national rules. Modifications tothe device or changes to its design are not permitted. After carrying out repair or overhaul work, ensurethat the “Exde" properties have not been affected.Assistance may also be obtained through CooperElectronic Technologies (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. SalesService department,955 ShengLi Road, Pudong Shanghai 201201Phone (86) 21-2899394312. Disposal/RecyclingWhen the apparatus is disposed of, the respectivenational regulations on waste disposal will have to beobserved. The charging conductor L1 and the luminaire’smains connection must always be connectedto the same external conductor of the mainssupply!See Fig.2, Fig.3 Fig.4 and Fig.5 for details.9. Putting into operationPrior to putting the apparatus into operation, the tests specified in the relevant nationalregulations shall be carried out. Insulationmeasurements may only be carried outbetween PE and the external conductor L1 (L2,L3) as well as between PE and N.- Measurement voltage: Max. 1 KV AC/DC- Measurement current: Max.10 mA- The luminaire may only be operated whenclosed.- It is generally recommended (see IEC/EN60079-14) that you ensure the type ofprotection of the construction is not impairedduring installation.(1).
