Choke may be used if necessary, but after first startingsound, squeeze throttle trigger to release choke and returnengine to idle.Note: If engine does not start after 5 pulls, use cold startprocedure.Note: Do not increase engine speed while chain brake is locked.Severe brake damage will result.RunningThe saw chain should not move at idle, otherwise seriouspersonal injury may result.Note: If saw chain moves adjust carburetor according to“Carburetor Adjustment” instructions in this manual, or seeyour dealer.1. After engine starts, allow it to return to idle and warm upbefore using.2. Move chain brake lever fully REARWARD to UNLOCK chainbrake.3. Squeeze throttle trigger (B) gradually and increase enginespeed.4. The chain starts running when the engine reaches clutchengagement speed (see technical data page).5. Confirm proper acceleration and lubrication of chain and bar.(Non-adjustable automatic oil pump)6. Do not run the engine at high speed unnecessarily.7. Be sure that saw chain stops moving when throttle trigger isreleased.Stopping1. Release throttle trigger and allow engine to idle.2. Move ignition switch (A) DOWN to “STOP” position.Note: If engine does not stop, pull choke control knob OUT fully to stop engine.Return the unit to your authorized ECHO dealer to check and repair stop switch before starting theengine again.Unlock Chain brakeAB
