Your left arm should be extended to the most comfortable po-sition.Useing the Hedge TrimmerPreparations Use lopping shears to cut thick branches first.Cutting Sequence If a radial cut is necessary, cut a little at a time in severalpasses.Cutting Techniques Vertical cut: Swing the blade up and down in an arc as you movealong the hedge. Use both sides of the cutting blade. Cut without standing directly next to the hedge, e.g. witha flower bed between operator and hedge. Overhead Cut: Hold the shaft upright with a 90° blade angle to cut anupper surface of a hedge. Horizontal Cut: Hold the cutting blade at an angle of 0° to 10° as youswing the hedge trimmer horizontally. Swing the blade in an arc towards the outside of thehedge so that the cuttings are swept on to the ground. Cut without standing directly in front of the hedge, e.g.reach over a flower bed. Cut close to the ground from a standing position, e.g., forlow shrubs.NOTE This product is designed to cut shrubs and hedges with branches no larger than 6 mm in diameter. When starting to trim, run the engine at full throttle. Cutting at less at than full speed can damage the clutch by allowing it toslip.
