If you configurethe computer for level triggering and the Good Read lightremains on, there may be a problem� Press one of the Scanbuttons or pull the trigger again without scanning a barcode label� If the light is still on, contact your local ecominstruments representative�The scanner will not read the barcode label�• Aim the scanner beam to cross the entire bar codelabel in one pass� Vary the scanning angle�• Check the quality of the bar code label� Scan a barcode label that you know will scan� Compare the twobar code labels to see if the bar code quality is toolow� You may need to replace the label that you can-not scan�• Make sure the bar code symbology is enabled andconfigured correctly. Use Intermec Settings to checkthe symbologies� Expand Data Collection > Symbolo-gies beneath devices listed (scanner, virtual wedge)to check and enable symbologies, then scan the barcode label again�• Make sure the computer application is expecting inputfrom a bar code� You may need to type this informa-tion instead�• The scanner may not be turned on or the scanner maybe unable to scan a specific bar code. Run the Scan-Diagnostic application to help you troubleshoot theproblem� For more information, seeThe scanner does not read the barcode labels quickly, or the scan-ning beam seems to be faint orobscured�The scanner window may be dirty� Clean the window witha solution of ammonia and water� Wipe dry� Do not allowabrasive material to touch the window�You scan a valid bar code label toenter data for your application�The data decoded by the scanmodule does not match the dataencoded in the bar code label�The computer may have decoded the bar code label in asymbology other than the label’s actual symbology� Tryscanning the bar code label again� Make sure you scan theentire label�The input device attached to thecomputer does not work well orread bar code labels very quickly�Set the Scanner Model command to the specific attachedinput device� Check enabled bar code symbologies and en-able only the symbologies being used�Use ScanDiagnostic to Troubleshoot the ScannerUse the ScanDiagnostic application to troubleshoot problems such as the inability toread a bar code or a scanner that does not turn on�1 From the Home menu, tap Start > ScanDiagnostic�2 From the Scan Health screen, select the scanner you want to troubleshootand then tap Diagnose�The application checks to make sure the scanner is enabled and checkssettings to make sure they are optimized�3 From the Scan Test screen, press and hold the Press to Scan button whileaiming at the bar code you want to read�After the computer scans the bar code, it beeps and the label data,data length, and symbology appear on the screen�4 Press the right arrow button to view any recommended settings�5 To accept the recommended settings, tap Apply�6 Tap OK to exit�Troubleshoot Operating the ComputerUse this section to troubleshoot problems that may prevent you from being able tooperate the computer�Problems Operating the ComputerProblem SolutionYou press the Power buttonand nothing happens�Try the following solutions:• Replace or charge the battery.
