Allow the cooker to cool.nn NEVER use paint solvents, washing soda, causticcleaners, biological powders, bleach, chlorine basedbleach cleaners, coarse abrasives or salt.nn DO NOT mix different cleaning products – they mayreact together with hazardous results.All parts of the cooker can be cleaned with hot soapy water– but take care that no surplus water seeps into theappliance.Remember to switch on the electricity supply before re-usingthe cooker.Daily CareCleaning the cooker is not a welcomed chore, but it has to bedone to maintain efficiency and appearance. Remember itis better to wipe up any spills as they occur, this will preventthem burning on and becoming more difficult to removelater.nn Make sure the flow of combustion and ventilationair to the cooker is unobstructed – for example bybuild-up of fats or grease.On Natural Gas the burners flames should be a bluish colourwith, at most, a slight yellowish fringe.On LP gas the flames may be “softer”. The cooktop burnerflames may have a slight yellowish tip.If the flame burns with a long white tip you should call forservice.Cleaning for SpillsFor spills and boil-overs that occur while cooking, as soon aspossible turn off the burner and allow to cool. Do not cleanuntil the area is completely cooled down. Wipe up spills assoon as possible.Do not allow surplus water to seep into the cooker.Hotplate BurnersThe burner heads and caps can be removed for cleaning.Make sure they are absolutely dry before replacing (Fig.5-1).When replacing a burner head, make sure that it locatesproperly within the base (Fig.5-2). If you look at the bottomof the burner head you will see two ‘pips’ – these fit into thetwo notches in the burner base (Fig.5-3).Check the burner ports are not blocked. If a blockage occurs,remove stubborn particles using a piece of fuse wire.Stainless Steel Main TopLift away pots or pans from the main top.
