Ifthis appliance is installed near vinyl wrapped surfaces, use aninstallation kit available from the vinyl-wrap supplier. Falconcannot accept any responsibility for damage caused due toinstallation into cabinets with low temperature tolerances.*Any splashback must be fitted in accordance with themanufacturers instructions. Allowance should be made forthe additional height of the flue trim, which is fitted to thecooker hob.1. Overhead – Measurement AThe minimum height of any surface above the cooker is650 mm above the hotplate.Cookerhoods and exhaust fans shall be installed inaccordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. However, inno case shall the clearance between the highest part of thehob of the cooking appliance and a cookerhood be less than650 mm or, for an overhead exhaust fan, 750 mm.2. Side Clearances – Measurements B & CWhere B, measured from the periphery of the nearest burnerto any vertical combustible surface, or vertical combustiblesurface covered with toughened glass or sheet metal, is lessthan 200 mm, the surface shall be protected to make surethat the combustible surface does not exceed 65 °C aboveambient*. Even with the surface protected, the dimension Bshould not be less than 135 mm above hotplate level.*The fixing of 5 mm thick ceramic tiles to the surface, orattaching fire resistant material to the surface and coveringwith sheet metal with a minimum thickness of 0.4 mm to aheight C of not less than 150 mm above the hotplate, shouldsatisfy this requirement.3. Side Clearances – Measurement D & EWhere D, the distance from the periphery of the nearestburner to a horizontal combustible surface is less than200 mm, then E shall be 10 mm or more, or the horizontalsurface shall be above the trivet. If the cooker is near a corner of the kitchen, a clearance of130 mm is required to allow the oven doors to open (Fig. 8.2).The actual opening of the doors is slightly less, but this allowsfor some protection of your hand as you open the door.We recommend a gap of 1110 mm between units to allowfor moving the cooker. Do not box the cooker in it must stillbe possible to move the cooker in and out for cleaning andservicing.Fig. 8.1Fig. 8.2
