The Rotisserie SystemStainless Steel Outdoor Cooking CenterRotisseriesystem(on some models)The rotisserie system is designed to cook itemsfrom the back of the grill using infrared heat. The rotisserie burner is an infrared type whichprovides intense searing radiant heat. Thisintense heat is magnificent for searing in thenatural juices and nutrients found in qualitycuts of meat.Once lit, the rotisserie burner will reach cookingtemperatures in about 1 minute. The orange/redglow will even out in about 5 minutes. If an extension cord is required to operate therotisserie motor, use only a grounded cordapproved for outdoor use. Use as short aspossible cord and avoid wet areas. The rotisserie motor is equipped with metalgears and is capable of turning up to a 15 or20 lb. cut of meat or poultry. The actualcapacity is limited by clearance and motor torque.Maximum 27 ≤ model . . . . . . . . . . . . . 15 lb. turkeyMaximum 36 ≤, 48 ≤ models . . . . . . . . . 20 lb. turkeyWARNING: Electrical Grounding InstructionsThis appliance rotisserie motor is equippedwith a three-prong (grounding) plug for yourprotection against shock hazard and should beplugged directly into a properly groundedthree-prong receptacle. Do not cut or removethe grounding prong from the plug. The rotisserie motor must be electricallygrounded in accordance with local codes or, inthe absence of local codes, with the NationalElectrical Code, ANSI/NFPA 70-1990.Assembly On 27≤ models the motor is mounted to a metalchannel which attaches to the left side of thegrill and is tightened into place with a thumbscrew. Ensure that the motor is straight prior totightening the thumb screw. The rotisserie motor on 36≤ and 48≤ models issecured down to a cast rotisserie block with theblack screw-down knob. The rotisserie block isin turn bolted to the right side panel. On 36≤ and 48≤ models, the skewer or therotisserie is attached to the motor assembly byplacing the pointed end into the motor andresting the threaded end on the support at theleft side (right side on 27≤ models) of the grill. With the skewer pushed as far as possible intothe motor, the grooved skewer bushing shouldrest on the left side bracket. The removable black handle should only be inplace when handling the skewer. Remove thehandle when cooking to allow the lid to closeand avoid melting the handle with heat fromthe range-top burners (on some models).27≤ model rotisserie assembly36≤ and 48≤ model rotisserie assembly13
