INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS(continued)PREPARE THE OPENING (cent’d)Flooring lJnder the RangeYour range, like many other householditems, is heavy and can settle into softfloor coverings such as cushioned vinylor carpeting. When moving the range on thistype of flooring, it should be installed on a 1/4inch thick sheet of plywood (or similar material)as follows:When the floor covering ends at the front of therange, the area that the range will rest on shouldbe built up with plywood to the same level orhigher than the floor covering. This will allowthe range to be moved for cleaning or servicing.STEP 2PREPARE FOR ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONUse only a 3-conductor, or if required a 4-conductor range cord set as noted below. Thesecord sets are provided with ring type terminals. The electrical rating of the cord must be 1251250volts minimum, 40 amperes.NOTE: Only a 4-conductor cord is to be usedwhen the appliance is installed in a mobile homeor where local codes do not permit groundingthrough the neutral.STEP 31. Locate connector block at the bottom rear ofrange and remove rear wiring cover.2. Directly below the connector block is a holewith a knockout ring for accommodating conduitfittings. Brackets provicled are used to supportthe flexible cord strain relief, which must besecurely attached to the cord set.CTORSTRAIN R(PROVIDESET NOTSTEP 43-WIRE SYSTEMPower Cord Installation-Insert screwsthrough power cord terminals so that the screwspass through connector block terminals andengage nuts.
