Using the self-cleaning upper and lower ovens.The oven door must be closed and oil controls set correctly for the cycle to work properly.GEAppliances.comWipe up heavy soil on the ovenbottom.DO hand cleanDO NOT hand inside door frameclean gasket, and glass.DO hand clean oven frame.Before a Clean CycleForthe first self-clean cycle, we recommendventing your kitchen with an open windowor using a ventilation fan or hood.Remove any broiler pan, broiler grid, allcookware, probe and any aluminum foilfrom the oven-they cannot withstand the highcleaning temperatures.NOTE:If your oven is equipped with nickeloven racks, remove them before you beginthe self-clean cycle.If your oven is equipped with gray porcelain-coated oven racks, they may be left in theoven during the self-clean cycle.Soil on the front frame of the range andoutside the gasket on the front frame willneed to be cleaned by hand. Clean theseareas with hot water, soap-filled scouringpads or cleansers such as Soft Scrub¢. Rinsewell with clean water and dry. Wipe offthe flat inner door with soapy water and asponge.Do not clean the gasket. The fiberglassmaterial of the front frame gasket cannotwithstand abrasion. It is essential for the gasketto remain intact. Theoven may still be hot.NOTES:The surface burners mustbe turened off prior to theself-clean start timeBoth ovens cannot be self-cleaned at the same time.Cooktop burners and the ovennot in self-clean mode will notstart during self-clean cycle.How to Set the Upper Oven for CleaningThe oven door must be closed and all controlsset correctly for the cycle to work.r-_ Rotate upper oven knob to self-cleanposition.I_] Touch the Start pad.Doors will lock automatically. The display willshow the clean time remaining.
