They provide the airinlet and outlet that are necessary for the range to operate properly withcorrect combustion. Air openings are located at the rear of the cooktop, atthe top and bottom of the oven door, and at the bottom of the range, underthe kick panel, storage drawer or broiler drawer (depending on the model).Lift-up Cooktop (on models with dual burners)Clean the areaunder the cooktopoften. Built-upsoil, especiallygrease, may catchon fire.To make cleaningeasier, the cookt~p ‘1may be lifted up.To raise the cooktop:1. Be sure burners are turned off.2. Remove the grates.3. Grasp the two front burner wells and lift up.Some models have dual support rods that will hold thecooktop up while you clean underneath it.After cleaning under the cooktop with hot, soapywater and a clean cloth, lower the cooktop. Be carefulnot to pinch your fingers.Surface Light and Starter (on some models)CAUTION: Donot touch thebulb with wethands or whenbulb is hot.Never wipe thelight area witha wet cloth.Electrical powermust be shut offif you have toreplace a bulb.To replace bulb:&5Lifi uph StarterII 111/11. With one hand at each end of the hinged canopy,grasp it by the front edge and flip it up.2. Remove fluorescent light bulb. Replace the bulbwith one of the same length and wattage.3. Lower the canopy.To replace starter:1. Open canopy and remove bulb as explained above.2. Grasp starter, turn it counterclockwise aboutone-quarter turn and lift out. To safely clean surfaces;wash, rinse and then dry with a ‘%soft cloth.To clean the outside glassfinish, use a glass cleaner.Rinse and polish with a drycloth.
