14Installation InstructionsMAKING THE PROPANE (LP) CONVERSION (CONT.)3 CHANGE COOKTOP BURNERORIFICES (CONT.)B Remove the sparkigniters from the burnerbase (if required toaccess the orifices).Using a No. 15 “Torx”head driver bit, removethe screws holding theburner base in position.C Using a 7mm nut driver,remove the top burnerorifices. These may beaccessed through thehole in the cooktop.On most burners,the orifices have aspring-loaded retainingring around the hexhead to hold the orificein the nut driver duringinstallation and removal.A slight amount of forceis required to push the nutdriver down over the ring.NOTE: For orifices thatdo not have a spring-loaded retaining ring, usepliers to hold the orificein position during initialthread engagement or finalremoval to avoid droppingthe orifice in the cooktop.Then use the nut driver totighten or loosen.3 CHANGE COOKTOP BURNERORIFICESA Remove the top grates,burner caps, and burnerheads.BurnercapBurnerheadBurnerbaseSpark igniterBurner capBurnerheadBurnerbaseSpark igniter18,000 BTU Burner(on some models)Remove ThisAssemblyOrifice Spud LocatedThrough This OpeningRetainerRing2 ADJUST YOUR COOKTOP FOR USEWITH PROPANE (LP) GASA Disconnect all electrical power, at the maincircuit breaker or fuse box.B Shut off the gas supply to the cooktopby closing the manual shut-off valve.C Adjust the pressure regulator, by the followinginstructions:• Unscrew the cap.• Carefully look at the spring retainer to locatethe NAT or Propane (LP) position.• Turn the spring retainer over by rotating it90 deg., pull it from the cap, turn the springretainer over so that LP is showing, insert itback into the cap, and then rotate it 90 deg.into position.• Screw the cap back onto the regulator andtighten.NATLP NATLPNATLP NATLPGasketCapSpringRetainerL.P./PropanePositionNAT.PositionPressure Regulator
