MicroCal iTC 200 Operating Instructions 28-9639-77 AA 53Maintenance 5Changing pipette tips 5.6To reinsert the pipette, place the pipette in the socket on the arm and tighten the screw.Insert the cable into its slot, and tighten the two screws. It is a good idea to re-calibratethe open fill port position once the pipette has been replaced; see Section 5.7.5.6 Changing pipette tipsSee the instructions above to remove the syringe from the pipette. The pipette shouldremain connected to the tower.1 In the Instrument Controls tab, click the Remove Old Tip button to position the tip.2 Use the blade of the X-acto knife provided with the instrument to make a diagonalcut on the side of the white Teflon tip (See Figure 5-5), and use the small-tippedtweezers to pull the tip off (See Figure 5-5).3 Click the Install New Tip button to position the tip.4 Use the tip pusher tool, with the new tip in the slot hole-side up, and firmly pressthe new tip into place (See Figure 5-6). Rotate the tool to ensure that the tip is firmlyseated.5 Remove the tip pusher tool and inspect the tip to be sure it is seated properly.6 Reinstall the syringe as described above to finish.Figure 5-5.
