Never use the grill in windy conditions. If located in a consistently windy area(oceanfront, mountaintop, etc.) a windbreakwill be required on the rear wall and bothsides of the grill. Windbreak constructionis the responsibility of the owner and mustadhere to the specified clearances listedin the Installation Instructions. As a high-performance gas appliance, your grill requires significant amounts of airto support the combustion process. Your grillhas been engineered to take air in throughthe control panel area and exhaustthe combustion byproducts out throughthe gap between the front and rear hoods.Using your grill in windy conditions candisrupt the proper flow of air through yourgrill, leading to reduced performance or,in certain severe cases, causing heat buildupin the control panel area. This can leadto problems such as burn hazards whenthe control panel surfaces become too hotto touch and, ultimately, failure of the wiringand internal components if the conditionspersist. If you have a freestanding grill, it is best toposition the unit so the prevailing wind blowsinto the front control panel, thus supportingthe proper airflow. Winds hitting the backof the grill directly are the most likely to causeproblems, although wind blowing along thehood gap can also be problematic.SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS 9WARNING: SAFETY PRECAUTIONSNEVER USE THE GRILL IN WINDYCONDITIONS. Wind hitting the grill whilein use, especially winds blowing into oracross this hood gap, can cause poorperformance and in some cases cancause the control panel to get hotenough to cause burns.Steady or gusty winds can prevent the normal exhaust of hot gases.Locate your grill away from prevailing winds and avoid grilling inwindy conditions.SPECIAL NOTE ON WINDY CONDITIONSWARNING: ELECTRICAL GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONSThis appliance is equipped with a three-prong(grounding) plug for your protection againstshock hazard and should be plugged directlyinto a properly grounded three-prongreceptacle. Do not cut or removethe grounding prong from the plug.If an extension cord is required to operatethe grill, use only a grounded cord approvedfor outdoor use. Use as short of cord as possibleand avoid wet areas.See all requirements in the provided InstallationInstructions.
