Touch the center of thepad to ensure the cooktop response,A "beep" sound can be heard with eachtouch to ang pad.ii i i i i i i i iOperating the Cooking ElementsEach of the cooking elements haveseparate ON/OFF pads and LEDdisplay.Be sure to use cookware that meets theminimum pan size requirements.Toturn on o cooking element:[] Placea pan with food onto theinduction element. The pan sizeshould match the indicator ring.[] Touch the ON/OFF pad, "5" will flashin the display,[] Touch the (+)or (-) pad to select powerlevel and to activate the inductionelement. A sound will beep. The (+)or(-)pad must be pressed within 10seconds to activate the element.NOTE:You can also touch and hold thepad to scroll quicklg to the desired setting.The induction circuit detects the pan andallows the element to be activated. Boththe element ON indicator light and thecooktop HOTSURFACElight will illuminate.If no power level is selected within 10seconds,the zone will be deactivated.To turn the control to OFF,touch theON/OFFpad. The induction element will beturned off and the display will be blank.With an element control ON:If a pan is removed or moved to off-centerfrom the cooking ring, the control will flash"F" along with the power setting. After 30seconds,the element will be deactivatedand displays will turn off.If the pan is placed back on the zonewithin 30 seconds, the flashing will stopand cooking will resume.ii¸:2 !-!!The power level with a fractionindicates the additional half-stepsetting.Power Level SettingsThe cooktop offers 19 power levels,including a Boost setting. Power levelsrange from "L" to 9 in precise half-stepincrements. For example: 1 1-1/2, 2,2-1/2 and up to power level 9.Power Level "L", the lowest setting, isrecommended for "Keep Warm."The power level increases one-half levelwith each touch.Power level g is the highest normalpower setting.10Flashing "F" in the DisplayIf a pan is removed or moved off-centerfrom the cooking ring during thecooking process, the control will flash"F" along with the power setting. Theflashing "F" indicates that the pan is nolonger detected, After 30 seconds, theelement will be deactivated and thedisplag will turn off,If the pan is returned to the surfaceelement within 30 seconds, the flashing"F" will disappear and cooking willresume.
