21About the automatic ice maker. GEAppliances.comA newly installed refrigerator may take 12 to 24 hours to begin making ice.Automatic Ice Maker*The ice maker will produce seven cubesper cycle approximately 100–130 cubesin a 24-hour period, depending on freezercompartment temperature, room temperature,number of door openings and other useconditions.The ice maker will fill with water when it cools to15°F (–10°C). A newly installed refrigerator maytake 12 to 24 hours to begin making ice cubes.If the refrigerator is operated before the waterline connection is made to the unit or if thewater supply to an operating refrigerator isturned off, make sure that the ice maker isturned off. Once the water has been connectedto the refrigerator, the ice maker may be turnedon. See the table below for details.You may hear a buzzing sound each timethe ice maker fills with water.Throw away the first few batches of ice to allowthe water line to clear.Be sure nothing interferes with the sweepof the feeler arm.When the bin fills to the level of the feeler arm,the ice maker will stop producing ice. Do not place fingers or hands on the automatic ice making mechanism whilethe refrigerator is plugged in.*Select Models OnlyLift and pullIce BoxDoorIce Bucket and Dispenser*• Open the ice box door on inside of the leftdoor.• Pull up and out on on the ice bucket inthe left hand door to remove it from thecompartment.• To replace the ice bucket, set it on theguide brackets and push until the icebucket seats properly.• If bucket cannot be replaced, rotate the icebucket fork 1/4 turn clockwise.Ice Maker (Available on Non Dispensemodels, also available as IM Kit forsome models)There is additional ice storage in the freezercompartment drawer.• Open the freezer drawer.• The ice bucket is located on the left side ofthe upper basket.• Pull the upper basket forward to removethe ice bucket.FreezerIceBucket
