34Vegetable container with humiditycontrollerThe vegetable container is the optimum storagelocation for fresh fruit and vegetables. A humiditycontroller and a special seal can be used to adjust theair humidity in the vegetable container. This allowsfresh fruit and vegetables to be stored twice as longas with conventional storage.The air humidity in the vegetable container can be setaccording to the type and amount of products to bestored:▯ Mainly fruit as well as for a large load – lower airhumidity▯ Mainly vegetables as well as for a mixed load orsmall load – higher air humidityNotes▯ Fruit sensitive to cold (e.g. pineapple, banana,papaya and citrus fruit) and vegetables sensitiveto cold (e.g. aubergines, cucumbers, zucchini,peppers, tomatoes and potatoes) should bestored outside the refrigerator at temperaturesof approx. +8 °C to +12 °C for optimumpreservation of quality and flavour.▯ Condensation may form in the vegetablecontainer depending on the type and quantityof products stored. Remove condensation witha dry cloth and adjust air humidity in thevegetable container with the humidity controller.Fast coolingFast cooling sets the refrigerator compartmentto the coldest temperature setting for approx. 15hours. Then the original temperature set before fastcooling mode is automatically restored.Switch on fast cooling mode, e.g.:▯ before placing large quantities of foodin the refrigerator compartment.▯ for the fast cooling of drinks.NoteWhen fast cooling is switched on, increased operatingnoises may occur.Switching on and offPress “fast” button refrigerator compartment Û.The button is lit when fast cooling is switched on.Freezer compartmentUse the freezer compartment▯ To store deep-frozen food.▯ To make ice cubes.▯ To freeze food.NoteEnsure that the freezer compartment door has beenclosed properly.
