Part # P143 (11/10/08) Page 11SERVICINGTo ensure efficient and safe operation of the appliance itis recommended that servicing be carried out at regularinterval, the frequency of which will vary, depending on theinstallation Servicing must be carried out by competentpersons in accordance with the lawWARNING: Turn off the gas supply to the appliance at theservice cock and the electrical mains before commencingany servicing workIMPORTANT: Test for gas soundness on completion of anyservicing workInfrared BurnersSupport the burner with one hand while removing the two(2) acorn nuts from the top of the unit securing the mainburner Allow burner to drop and remove through the frontopening Check the burner tiles and wire mesh for soot orblocked ports Clean with a damp cloth if requiredGas TapsRe-greasing of the taps is not recommended If the tapspindles become seized or difficult to turn, refer to theReplacement of parts section in this manualSafety Equipment CheckCheck the operation of all thermocouples and flame safetydevices by lighting the pilots individually and then blowingthem out Listen for the flame failure valve clicking closedThis action must occur within 60 seconds of extinguishingthe pilotREPLACEMENT OF PARTSWARNING: Turn off the gas supply to the appliance at theservice cock before commencing any servicing workIMPORTANT: Test for gas soundness on completion of anyservicing workServicing must be carried out by competent persons inaccordance with the lawGas Taps1 Pull the control knob off each tap and remove the driptray and the roll out rack assembly2 Remove the four (4) screws (top & bottom) securing thefront fascia and remove the fascia panel to access themultifunctional controls3 Disconnect the thermocouple connection at the rear ofthe gas tap4 Disconnect the pilot and main burner tubing connectionsat the gas tap5 Break the compression nut at the inlet of the gas tap andreplace the tap6 Reassemble in the reverse orderInfrared BurnersRefer to the Servicing section for instructions on burnerremovalPilot Burner/Thermocouple1 Remove the main burner following the procedure givenunder Servicing2 Remove the four (4) screws (top & bottom) securing thefront fascia and remove the fascia panel to access themultifunctional control3 Disconnect the thermocouple connection at the rear ofthe gas tap4 Disconnect the pilot tube connection/thermocoupleconnection at the gas tap5 Remove the two (2) screws that secure the pilotmounting bracket to the side liner and remove the pilotburner/thermocouple6 Replace the faulty component and reassemble in thereverse order
