Part # P143 (11/10/08)Page 8Gas ConnectionThe type of gas and the supply pressure that the equipmentwas set up for at the factory is noted on the data plate and onthe packaging This type of gas supply must be usedThe gas pipe connection is made at the right hand side ofthe equipment The size of the pipe work supplying theappliance must not be less than the inlet connection whichis ISO 7/R 1/2” An isolating cock is required to be close tothe appliance to allow shut down during an emergency orroutine servicing After installation, the complete pipe workmust be checked for soundnessGas SupplyThe local gas region should be consulted at the installationplanning stage in order to establish the availability of anadequate supply of gas and to ensure that the meter isadequate for the required flow rate The pipe work fromthe meter to the appliances must be of an appropriate sizeWhere a number of appliances are installed in a battery, nomore than five should be served by any one supply pipeINSTALLATION ContinuedAll fixed ( non mobile ) appliances MUST be fitted with amanual gas cock upstream of the appliance to provide ameans of isolation for servicing or cleaning purposes Aunion or similar means of disconnection must be providedbetween the gas cock and the applianceA manually operable valve must be fitted to the gas supplyto the kitchen to enable it to be isolated in an emergencyWherever practical, this shall be located either outside thekitchen or near to an exit in a readily accessible positionWhere it is not practical to do this, an automatic isolationvalve system shall be fitted which can be operated from areadily accessible position near to the exitAt locations where the manual isolation valve is fitted orthe automatic system can be reset a notice MUST be fittedstating:“All downstream burner and pilot valves must be turnedoff prior to attempting to restore the supply. Afterextended shut off, purge before restoring gas.”COMMISSIONINGThe whole of the gas installation, including the meter, should be inspected, purged and tested for soundness inaccordance with the codes of the Country of destination1 Ensure that all controls are in the “ ” position and turnon the main gas supply and electrical mains2 Remove the drip tray and roll out rack assembly andconnect a U-gauge manometer to the pressure testpoint on the main manifold Operate the main burners inaccordance with the instructions given in the Operationsection3 Check that the setting pressure is correct per TABLE D Ifnecessary, adjust the supply pressure to give the requiredsettingBurner AdjustmentsMinimum Flame Setting1 Set the gas tap to the low “ ” position2 Connect a U-gauge manometer to the pressure testnipple located downstream of the gas tap3 With a flat screwdriver, turn the adjuster on the tap bodyclockwise to reduce pressure or counter-clockwise toincrease pressure Set the pressure to correspond withTABLE E
