18 Astro 320 and DC40 Owner’s ManualTracking Your DogCollar LockYou can use the Collar Lock feature toPIN protect your dog’s ID signal. OtherAstro users must enter the PIN in orderto track your dog. Other Astro userscan still add your dog by physicallytouching the Astro to the DC 40.Activating Collar LockThis requires wireless communicationwith the DC 40. You must turn on theDC 40 and bring it within range of theAstro.1. From the main menu, press DOG >ENTER > MENU.2. Select Change PIN.3. Enter a unique PIN.NOTE: If you forget the PIN, theCollar Lock feature can be overriddenby physically touching the Astro to theDC 40.Astro and DC 40 Tips• Turn on the DC 40 and allow it toacquire satellites before you put theDC 40 on your dog. This allows theDC 40 to acquire satellite signalsmuch faster.• Bring extra AA batteries for yourAstro (page 58).• Use a fully charged DC 40. Afully charged DC 40 operates forapproximately 17 hours when usingfive-second interval reporting.• Use line-of-sight radiocommunication (page 20).• The Astro can track up to 10 dogswith DC 40 collars. Only three dogscan be viewed at one time on theDog Tracker page. To reduce thetext size, press MENU, and selectSmall Numbers.
