Garmin G1000 Cockpit Reference Guide for the Beechcraft A36/G36 8-1SECTION 8 – FLIGHT PLANNINGSECTION 8: FLIGHT PLANNINGThe following discussions pertain to the Multi FunctionDisplay, unless otherwise indicated.8.1 USER DEFINED WAYPOINTSFigure 8-1 User WPT Information PageSelect the User WPT Information Page1) Turn the large FMS Knob to select the NRSTpage group.2) Turn the small FMS Knob to select the fifthrectangular page icon.Create a New User Waypoint1) With the User Waypoint Information Pagedisplayed, press the FMS Knob to activate thecursor.2) Turn the FMS Knobs to enter a name for thenew waypoint and press the ENT Key. Themessage ‘Are you sure you want to create thenew user waypoint’ is displayed. With ‘YES’highlighted, press the ENT Key.3) Turn the large FMS Knob to highlight thelatitude/longitude field or the ReferenceWaypoints field, depending on how thewaypoint is to be defined.4) Turn the FMS Knobs to enter the positioncoordinates or the radial and distance fromthe reference waypoint.5) Press the ENT Key to accept the newwaypoint.6) Press the FMS Knob to remove the flashingcursor.Create User Waypoints from the NavigationMap Page1) With the Navigation Map Page displayed, pushthe joystick to activate the panning function.The target pointer is displayed at the presentaircraft position.2) After placing the pointer at the desiredposition, press the ENT Key. The User WaypointInformation Page is now displayed with thecaptured position.3) Turn the FMS Knobs to select a waypointname.4) Press the ENT Key to accept the selectedname. The first reference waypoint field ishighlighted.5) If desired, turn the FMS Knobs to enter theidentifier of the reference waypoint and theradial and distance to the reference waypoint.Press the ENT Key to accept.6) Press the FMS Knob to remove the flashingcursor.
