B 7-73MULTI FUNCTION DISPLAYSELECTING APPROACHESIn order to select an approach, there must be an activeflight plan or direct-to which terminates at an airport witha published approach.To select an approach:1. Press the PROC key to display the ProceduresPage. Turn the large FMS knob to highlight‘Select Approach’ and press the ENT key. Theapproach procedure window appears.2. Turn the FMS knob to select the desiredapproach and press the ENT key. The transitionwindow appears.NOTE: The approach vectors option assumesthe pilot will receive vectors to the final coursesegment of the approach and will provide navi-gation guidance on the final approach segmentand extension only.3. Turn the FMS knob to select the desired transi-tion and press the ENT key. ‘LOAD?’ is nowhighlighted. Press the ENT key. Activate theapproach once the approach clearance isreceived.NOTE: ‘LOAD?’ will add the procedure to theflight plan without immediately using it fornavigation guidance. This allows you to continuenavigating the original flight plan, but keeps theprocedure available on the Active Flight PlanPage for quick activation when needed. ‘Acti-vate?’ overrides the enroute portion of the activeflight plan, proceeding directly to the approachportion.NOTE: You can also load an approach by pressingthe APR softkey.
