The Arc contains a course pointer arrow, TO/FROMindicator, sliding deviation indicator (the TO/FROM andsliding deviation indicator are one in the same), and devi-ation scale. Upon station passage the arrowhead flips andpoints to the tail of the aircraft just like the conventionalTO/FROM flag. Depending on the source of navigation,the CDI on the Arc HSI can appear a couple of differentways:• GPS,OBS,VOR – appears as a arrowhead• Localizer – appears as a diamondNOTE: If the pilot makes a heading changegreater than 105˚with respect to the course, theCDI switches to the opposite side of the deviationscale and displays reverse sensing.Lateral DeviationScale Course DeviationTO/FROM IndicatorFigure 2-11 ARC HSINOTE: When the Arc HSI is displayed, the BRG1and BRG2 information windows are disabled.Heading IndicationA digital reading of the current magnetic heading ap-pears on top of the HSI.
