Deselect the Failure Annunciation discrete (corresponding box is not checked and displaysInactive).5.4 Ground Checks (Normal Mode)Each installation of the GDL 82 must be checked by performing the following procedures:• Regulatory Test• ADS-B Out Test• EMC CheckNOTEThe GDL 82 must be disconnected from the GDL 8X Install Tool and USB to be in Normal Modeand continue with the regulatory and ADS-B Out ground check procedures.NOTEIt may take the GPS source several minutes to acquire a GPS signal.If the optional ADS-B OUT FAIL annunciator was installed, verify that no failure indication is present,with all avionics powered on including the GDL 82, in normal mode. Operate the test function of eachannunciator lamp and verify the annunciator illuminates.5.4.1 Regulatory TestRegulatory ATC Transponder Tests and Inspections are required in accordance with 14 CFR Part 91.413and Part 43 Appendix F. Aircraft transponder and GDL 82 must operate in normal mode during the test.The test requires the use of a Mode A/C transponder ramp tester such as an Aeroflex IFR-6000 or TICTR-220.5.4.2 ADS-B Out TestThe ADS-B Out test procedures require the use of an ADS-B Out ramp tester such as an Aeroflex IFR-6000 or GDL 39(R/3D)/52 combined with the Garmin Pilot Application on an iOS device. The aircraftmust be located where a GPS signal is receivable (e.g., outdoors with a clear unobstructed view of thesky).1. Power on the aircraft/avionics.2. Ensure the GPS source has acquired a position.3. Ensure the transponder is in ALT mode.4. Using the ADS-B test set, verify the following ADS-B Out parameters are transmitted:a. Aircraft emitter category is Light Airplane (< 15,000 lbs).
