Enter the MMSI number, the name, and any comments.4. When finished, highlight OK, and press ENTER.New Directory Item PageEnter theMMSI number,name, and acomment (ifneeded) in thefields.Highlight OKand pressENTER to savethe DirectoryEntry.After creating a New Directory Item, the name created is attached tothat particular MMSI number. If you return to the log, the new nameappears under the corresponding MMSI number.Another way to input a name is from the Entry Review Page or theDSC Distress Call or DSC Position Report Pages. The Name andMMSI are sent to other Garmin GPS units: Only the MMSI numbersare sent to other non-Garmin DSC users.Making a Distress CallTo make a Distress Call, press the MayDay button on your VHFradio. The call transmits on an emergency channel with the MMSInumber attached to the call, if you have DSC support.
