When turned on, the Welcome page appears briefly,followed by a Safe Driving Warning Message. Press the OK keyto acknowledge the message, or wait briefly until the Map pageappears. Your Quest automatically starts searching for satellitesignals to find your current location.Adjusting the External Speaker VolumeYou can adjust the volume for the external speaker using twodifferent methods. Be sure that you properly adjust the volume onboth controls.You can adjust the volume using the volumecontrol knob on the external speaker. Test thesound level by pressing the Speak key.You can also press and hold the Speakkey to open the volume slider. Press theRocker pad right to raise the volume or leftto lower it. You can quickly press the Speakkey to adjust the volume to a pre-set level(low, medium, and high).Turning off Satellite Reception for Indoor UseYou can set your Quest to indoor use which stops satellitereception. As a result, it conserves the battery and speeds up thesearching and mapping operations. Thoroughly familiarize yourselfwith the routing features of the Quest by practicing creating routesin simulator mode (Use Indoors).To turn off satellitereception:1. Press the Page key toopen the Map page.2. Press the MENU key.3. Highlight Use Indoorsand press the OK key.The GPS function isdisabled.To turn on satellite reception:1. Press the Page key to open the Map page.2. Press the MENU key.3. Highlight Acquire Satellites and press OK. The GPSfunction is enabled and your Quest begins to acquiresatellites.VolumecontrolSpeaker
