You can also prompt the Quest torecalculate your route. For example, if you change your routepreference (page 39), you can recalculate your route based on yournew preference.To recalculate your route:1.PressMENU, highlightRoute Options, and pressOK.2.HighlightRecalculateand pressOK.Adding a DetourWhen you are navigating a route, you might need to take a detourto avoid a roadblock or construction. After you select a detourdistance, your Quest calculates a new route and provides you withnew driving instructions. The detour is saved until you stop thecurrent navigation or until you turn off the unit.To set a detour:1.PressMENU, highlightRoute Options, andpressOK.2.HighlightDetourand pressOK.3.Highlight a detour distance and pressOK.Your Quest makes every possible attempt to get you back on theoriginal route at your requested distance; however, the distancemay be longer if no other roads can take you back to your originalroute. Sometimes, the route you are currently taking might be theonly reasonable option. If so, you will not be able to take a detour.Adding Via PointsVia points are extra stops you make on the way to your finaldestination. You can add stops to the route you are currentlynavigating, to the route you are planning, or to a route that youhave previously saved.To add via points to a saved route:1.PressMENU, highlightRoute Options, and pressOK.2.HighlightRoute Plannerand pressOK.3.Highlight the route to add extra stops to and pressOK.4.Highlightand pressOK.5.Highlight a method to find the location and pressOK.6.Highlight the location of the point. Continue until all pointsare added to the route.
