Magnetic Heading ReferenceThe GPS 125 Sounder’s heading information can bedisplayed referencing magnetic north (auto or user-defined), true north, or calculated grid headings. Thedefault setting is automatic magnetic north, which issuitable for most applications.To select a heading reference:1. Highlight the ‘HEADING’ field and press F.2. Select the desired heading preference.3. Press the F key to confirm the selection.To enter a user-defined magnetic heading :. 1. Select the ‘USER MAG’ option and press F.2. Use the U and D keys to enter the degreesand direction of magnetic variation.3. Press the F key to confirm the magneticvariation value.Map Setup and OrientationThe map setup page lets you select map orientationand specify what items are displayed. The map may beoriented to north up, the direction of current travel(track up) or the direction of an active route leg(desired track up).
