The isobars connectpoints of equal pressure. Pressure readings can help determine weather and windconditions. High pressure areas are generally associated with fair weather. Lowpressure areas are generally associated with clouds and the chance of precipitation.Isobars that are packed closely together show a strong pressure gradient. Stronggradients are associated with areas of stronger winds. Pressure units can be displayedin Millibars (mb) and Inches of Mercury (in).Surface Pressure DataUSING XM SATELLITE WEATHER PRODUCTSXM Weather Products can be displayed on the Navigation Map and individually onthe Weather Maps.The setup menu for the Navigation Map controls the map range settings above whichweather products are decluttered from the display. If a map range larger than theweather product map range setting is selected, the weather product data is removedfrom the map. For weather products such as Lightning, and Storm Cells, the weatherproduct is displayed when a map range “smaller” than the weather product map rangesetting is selected (Satellite Mosaic works inversely). The menu also provides a meansfor enabling/disabling display of ‘Airmets’, ‘Sigmets’, ‘Weather Data’, ‘NEXRAD’, and/or ‘Fronts’ on the Navigation Map.Additional information about the following can be displayed by panning over thedisplay on map:
