Saving System Information to a MemoryCardYou can save system information to a memory card as atroubleshooting tool. A product support representative may askyou to use this information to retrieve data about the network.1 Insert a memory card into the card slot.2 Select Settings > System > System Information > GarminDevices > Save to Card.3 If necessary, select the memory card to save systeminformation to.4 Remove the memory card.Device ConfigurationTurning On the Chartplotter AutomaticallyYou can set the chartplotter to turn on automatically when thepower is applied. Otherwise, you must turn on the chartplotter bypressing .Select Settings > System > Auto Power.NOTE: When Auto Power is On, and the chartplotter isturned off using , and power is removed and reappliedwithin less than two minutes, you may need to press torestart the chartplotter.System SettingsSelect Settings > System.Display: Adjusts the backlight brightness and color scheme.Beeper: Turns on and off the tone that sounds for alarms andselections.GPS: Provides information about the GPS satellite settings andfix.Auto Power: Turns on the device automatically when power isapplied (Turning On the Chartplotter Automatically,page 22 ).Language: Sets the on-screen text language.Speed Sources: Sets the source of the speed data used tocalculate true wind speed or fuel economy. Water speed isthe speed reading from a water-speed sensor, and GPSspeed is calculated from your GPS position.System Information: Provides information about the device andthe software version.Simulator: Turns on the simulator and allows you to set thespeed and simulated location.Display SettingsNot all options are available on all models.Select Settings > System > Display.Backlight: Sets the backlight level.Color Mode: Sets the device to display day or night colors.Screenshot Capture: Allows the device to save images of thescreen.GPS SettingsSelect Settings > System > GPS.Skyview: Shows the relative position of GPS satellites in thesky.WAAS/EGNOS: Turns on or off WAAS (in North America) orEGNOS (in Europe), which can provide more-accurate GPSposition information. When using WAAS or EGNOS, thedevice may take longer to acquire satellites.Speed Filter: Averages the speed of your vessel over a shortperiod of time for smoother speed values.Source: Allows you to select the preferred source for GPS.Viewing the Event LogThe event log shows a list of system events.Select Settings > System > System Information > EventLog.Viewing System Software InformationYou can view the software version, the basemap version, allsupplemental map information (if applicable), the softwareversion for an optional Garmin radar (if applicable), and the unitID number. You may need this information to update the systemsoftware or to purchase additional map data information.Select Settings > System > System Information >Software Information.My Vessel SettingsNOTE: Some settings and options require additional charts orhardware.Select Settings > My Vessel.Keel Offset: Offsets the surface reading for the depth of a keel,making it possible to measure depth from the bottom of thekeel instead of from the transducer location (Setting the KeelOffset, page 22).Temp. Offset: Compensates for the water temperature readingfrom a NMEA 0183 water-temperature sensor or atemperature-capable transducer (Setting the WaterTemperature Offset, page 23).Calibrate Water Speed: Calibrates the speed-sensingtransducer or sensor Calibrating a Water Speed Device,page 23.Fuel Capacity: Sets the combined fuel capacity of all the fueltanks on your vessel (Setting the Fuel Capacity of the Vessel,page 23).Vessel Type: Enables some chartplotter features based on theboat type.Fill Up All Tanks: Sets the tank levels to full (Synchronizing theFuel Data with the Actual Vessel Fuel, page 23).Add Fuel to Boat: Allows you to enter the quantity of fuel youadded to your tank, when you did not entirely fill up the tank(Synchronizing the Fuel Data with the Actual Vessel Fuel,page 23).Set Total Fuel Onboard: Sets the combined amount of fuel inall the fuel tanks on your vessel (Synchronizing the Fuel Datawith the Actual Vessel Fuel, page 23).Set Gauge Limits: Sets the upper and lower limits of variousgauges (Customizing Engine Gauge and Fuel Gauge Limits,page 23).Setting the Keel OffsetYou can enter a keel offset to compensate the surface readingfor the depth of a keel, making it possible to measure depth fromthe bottom of the keel instead of from the transducer location.Enter a positive number to offset for a keel. You can enter anegative number to compensate for a large vessel that maydraw several feet of water.1 Complete an action, based on the location of the transducer:• If the transducer is installed at the water line À, measurethe distance from the transducer location to the keel of theboat. Enter this value in steps 3 and 4 as a positivenumber.• If the transducer is installed at the bottom of the keel Á,measure the distance from the transducer to the waterline.
