Wear an ESD wrist strap. Make sure the strap makes good skin contact and is reliablygrounded.2. Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the captive screw on the expansion card.3. (Optional.) If the expansion card has an ejector lever, fully open the ejector lever.Skip this step if the expansion card does not have an ejector lever.4. Gently pull the expansion card out of the chassis along the guide rails.5. If you are not to install a new expansion card, install a filler panel in the slot to prevent dust andensure good ventilation in the switch.Verifying the installationBefore powering on the switch, verify the following items:• There is enough space around the switch for heat dissipation.• The rack or workbench on which the switch is mounted is stable.• The grounding cable is securely connected.• The power source specifications are as required by the device.• The power cords are correctly connected.• If part of the network cable for a port is routed outdoors, verify that a network port lightningprotector is used for the port.• If a power line is routed from outdoors, verify that a surge protected power strip is used for theswitch.
