Your product may lookdifferent. Read this manual before installation. Explain theoperation of the unit to the user according to this manual.Step 1 - PreparationRequired Tools for Installation Procedure for Selecting the Location• Drill• Wire Snipper• Hole Saw 2 3/4”• Vacuum pump• Soap-and-water solution or gas leakagedetector• Torque wrench• 17mm, 22mm, 26mm• Tubing cutter• Flaring tool• Razor knife• Measuring tape• Level• Micron gauge• Nitrogen• Mini-Split AD-87 Adapter (1/4” to 5/16”)• A - Non-adhesive Tape• B - Adhesive Tape• C - Saddle (L.S.) with screws• D - Electrical wiring• E - Drain hose (Included)• F - Insulation• G - Piping hole cover (Included)than 10ft away depending on radio waveconditions.)• Since drain flows out of the outdoor unit,do not place anything under the unit thatmust be kept away from moisture.Note:1) Cannot be installed hanging from ceilingor stacked.2) If installing on a high place such as a roof, with a fence or guard rail around it.3) If there is a potential for accumulatedsnow to block the air inlet or heat ex-changer, install the unit on a higher base.4) R-410A refrigerant is a safe, nontoxic andnonflammable refrigerant. However, ifthere is a concern about a dangerous levelof refrigerant concentration in the case ofrefrigerant leakage, add extra ventilation.5) Avoid installing the outdoor unit wherecorrosive gases, such as sulfur oxides, am-monia, and sulfurous gas, are produced. Ifunavoidable, consult with an installationspecialist about using a corrosion-proof oranti-rust additive to protect the unit coils.• Choose a place solid enough to bear theweight and vibration of the unit and wherethe operation noise will not be amplified.• Choose a location where the hot airdischarged from the unit or the operationnoise and will not cause a nuisance to theneighbors of the user.• There must be sufficient space forcarrying the unit into and out of the site.• There must be sufficient space for airpassage and no obstructions around theair inlet and air outlet.• The site must be free from the possibilityof flammable gas leakage in a nearbyplace.• Locate the unit to avoid noise anddischarged hot air will not annoy theneighbors.• Install units, power cords and inter-unitcables at least 10ft away from televisionand radio sets. This is to preventinterference to images and sounds.(Noise may be heard even if they are moreX XYZFor: 09k 12k 18k 24kMounting the Outdoor Unit• Mount the unit to concrete or a blockwith bolts (10mm) and nuts firmly andhorizontally.• When mounting the unit to a wall orroof, take strong winds and otherenvironmental conditions intoconsideration when securing.• If vibrations effect the house, mountthe unit using a vibration-proof mat.Outdoor unit mountingdimensions (Unit: mm/inch)X Y Z09k 5 1/2”140 mm19 11/16”500 mm10 1/16”256 mm12k 5 1/2”140 mm19 11/16”500 mm10 1/16”256 mm18k 4 7/16”113.5 mm22 15/16”583 mm12 9/16”319.5mm24k 4 7/16”113.5 mm24 15/16”633 mm13 3/8”340mmClearances of Indoor and Outdoor Units
