20 HARDI® New NAVIGATOR OPERATOR’S MANUALEmergency operationIn case of electrical failure, it is still possible to manuallyoverride all functions of the operating unit. To operatemanually, disconnect the multiplug from the ECP orECPC control box first and operate the handles byhand. It is possible to change pressure and turn boomson or off.Note: Since the ON/OFF switch normally operates byshutting off all boom distribution valves, you will needto manually shut off all distribution valves to shut off thecomplete control unit manually.IMPORTANT! When the sprayer is stored, the ECPor ECPC control box and the multiplug must bepro tected against moisture and dirt. A plastic bagmay be used to protect the multi plug. Store thecontrol box in a clean dry place.Remote 4” pressure gauge (optional)The remote pressure gauge is located on the fronthandrail (Fig 20). This gauge measures the workingpressure in the boom tubes as close to the nozzles aspossible. This pressure reading will always be slightlylower than the reading at the operating unit pressuregauge. The outputs stated in the nozzle charts are alwaysbased on the pressures measured at the nozzle.Always adjust pressure when calibrating and sprayingaccording to readings at the Remote pressure gauge.FiltersFilters should always be used, and their functionchecked regularly. The mesh size of the filtershould always be smaller than the flow average ofthe nozzles used. Therefore, pay attention to thecorrect combination of filters and mesh size. Therecommended suction filter is 50 mesh - this allowsgood flow to the pump with little restriction. Thestandard self cleaning filter is 100 mesh.Refer to the chart below for correct filter recom mendations.ISO Flat Spray Suction Self Cleaning In-Line NozzleNozzle Size Filter Filter Filter Filter075-01-015-02 50 100 100 100025-03 50 80 80 80 (50)04 and larger 30 80 (50) 50 50Suction filter screens do wear from dirt and chemicalparticles. If nozzle filters continually block with chemi calparticles, then use the next size coarse nozzle filter.Self cleaning filter (ECP only)IMPORTANT! Note direction of restrictor in (Fig 21).Correct restrictor choiceIt is important to have a large flow through the filter. This is achieved by choosing restrictor size in relationto the liquid consumption of the spray boom and pumpoutput.Four restrictors are supplied. Use the green one(largest orifice) first.Disconnect the hose (Fig 21) at the self cleaning filter, place the restrictor in the hose and reconnect. If the required working pressure cannot be obtained, the restrictor is too large. Choose a smaller one;Starting with black, then white and finally red.OperationABCFED334200 RED 334201 WHITE334202 BLACK 334203 GREENA= From PumpB= Double Filter ScreenC= Guide ConeD= To Operating UnitE= Replaceable RestrictorF= Return to TankFig 21Fig. 20
