22 HARDI® New NAVIGATOR OPERATOR’S MANUALOperation4 Make sure the bottom valve (AFig 25) is closed onthe HARDI® CHEMI CAL FILLER.5 Engage the pump and set P.T.O. revolutions to 540r.p.m. or 1000 r.p.m. (depending on pump model).6 Open the HARDI® CHEMICAL FILLER lid.7 Measure the correct quantity of chemical and fill itinto the hopper.Note: The measuring scale in the hopper can onlybe used if the sprayer is parked on level ground. It isrecommended to use a measuring jug for best accu ra cy.8 Open the bottom valve (AFig 25) to transfer thechemical to the main tank.9 If the chemical container is empty, it can be rinsedby using the Bag & Bottle Rinse (optional). Place thecontainer over the multi-hole nozzle and press thelever (BFig 25).WARNING! Do not press lever (BFig 25) unlessthe multi-hole nozzle is covered by a containerto avoid spray liquid hitting the operator.IMPORTANT! If the Se lect Source handle is turnedto MAIN TANK, the Bag & Bottle Rinse uses dilutedspray solution from the main tank to rinse containersof concentrated chemicals. Always rinse the chemi calcontainers with clean water several times until they areclean before disposal. Turn the Select Source handle toFLUSH TANK (optional) to use clean water to rinse thechemical containers.10 Engage the hopper rinsing device by opening valve(CFig 25).12 Close valve (CFig 25) again when the hopper isrinsed.IMPORTANT! If the Select Source handle is turned toMAIN TANK, the hopper rinsing device uses dilutedspray solution from the main tank to rinse the hopper ofconcentrat ed chemi cals. Always rinse the hopper withclean water when finished spraying. Turn the SelectSource handle to FLUSH TANK (optional) to use cleanwater to rinse the hopper.13 Close valve (AFig 25) and the chemical hopper lid.Turn the Select Function handle to SPRAY MAXAGITATION and turn the Variable Agitation handledown to mix the chemicals in the main tank. Leavethe Smart Valves in this configuration so the sprayliquid is continuously agi tated while spraying.Operating with Powder-based chemicals1 Make sure the ECP operating unit main on/off switchis in the off position.2 Fill the flush tank with clean water and fill the maintank at least 1/2 with clean water (unless somethingelse is stated on the chemical container label). SeeFilling tanks with water (pp. 17-18).3 Turn the Select Source handle to MAIN TANK. Turnthe Select Function handle to CHEM FILL andturn the Variable Agitation handle straight down formaximum flow through the agitation nozzles (Fig 26).4 Engage the pump and set P.T.O. revolutions to 540r.p.m. or 1000 r.p.m. (depending on pump model).5 Open the bottom valve (AFig 27) on the HARDI®CHEMICAL FILLER and open the lid.6 Engage the hopper rinsingdevice by opening valve(CFig 27).7 Measure the correct quantityof chemical and sprinkle itinto the hopper as fast as therinsing device can flush itdown.8 If the chemical containeris empty, it can berinsed by using theBag & Bottle Rinse(optional). Fit the bagbracket and place thepowder bag over the multi-hole nozzle and press thelever (BFig 27).WARNING!
