In thisway your TV programs can be listened to overyour HS sound system.NOTE: Please make sure that the Scart cableused has all pins connected. If not, only the videosignal from the DVD Receiver will be lead to theTV.1. Press the ON button 0 on the remotecontrol to turn the DVD Receiver on. Makesure that the Main Power Switch on the frontpanel is in the On position, shown by the blueLED surrounding the button. Also make surethat your video monitor connected to theHS 100 is switched on.2. Press the TV button on the remote controlor SOURCE 4 on the front panel repeatedlyto select the Scart as the input source. The TVmonitor will show the TV Menu, as shownbelow. You can also select the TV Menu withthe ARROW keys 9 on the remote control.Once the TV tab is highlighted, press ENTER6 to access it.If the HS controller is already in standby, you canalso switch the unit on by pressing the TV buttonon the remote control.The TV Menu contains the following settings.Follow the explanations in the Upper Menu Lineon the bottom of your screen to change thesettings.Audio: Selects the Surround Mode you wouldlike to use when listening to your TV or othervideo device connected to the Scart input.Level adjustment: This setting gives you thepossibility to increase or decrease the input levelof the TV, so that its sound will have the samelevel as the radio, the DVD player or the otheraudio inputs.AUX MENUIn addition to the built-in DVD-Audio/Video andCD player, the built-in radio and Scart audioinput, you can connect one more analog audiosource to the HS 100. The analog source can beconnected to the AUDIO IN input connectorson the rear panel.1. Press the ON 0 or AUX button on theremote control to turn the DVD Receiver on.Make sure that the Main Power Switch on thefront panel is in the On position, shown by theblue LED surrounding the button. Also makesure that your video monitor connected to theHS 100 is switched on.2. Press the DIGITAL IN button on theremote control or SOURCE 4 on the frontpanel repeatedly to select one of the digitalsources as the input. The TV monitor will showthe DIGITAL IN Menu, as shown below. Youcan also select the DIGITAL IN Menu with theARROW keys 9 on the remote control. Oncethe DIGITAL IN tab is highlighted, press ENTER6 to access it.The DIGITAL IN Menu contains the followingsettings. Follow the explanations in the UpperMenu Line on the bottom of your screen tochange the settings.Digital Input: Selects either the digital sourceconnected to the coaxial or to the optical digitalinput as source to listen to.Audio: Selects the Surround Mode you wouldlike to use when listening to one of the digitalaudio sources.Level adjustment: This setting gives you thepossibility to increase or decrease the input levelof the digital input, so that its sound will havethe same level as the radio, the DVD player orthe other audio inputs.Surround Mode ChartDolby Digital: Available only with digital inputsources encoded with Dolby Digital data. Itprovides up to five separate main audio channelsand a special dedicated Low Frequency Effectschannel.DTS: Available only with digital input sourcesencoded with DTS data. Available on specialDVD, LD and audio-only discs, DTS provides up tofive separate main audio channels and a specialdedicated low frequency channel.Dolby Pro Logic II: Dolby Pro Logic II is thelatest version of Dolby Laboratory's benchmarksurround technology that creates or decodes fullrange, discrete left, center, right, right surroundand left surround channels from matrix surroundencoded programs and conventional stereosources. The Dolby Pro Logic II Movie mode isoptimized for movie soundtracks that arerecorded with matrix surround, by creating truerear left, center and right signals. The ProLogic IIMusic mode should be used with musicalselections, that are recorded with matrixsurround or with normal stereo mode, creatingdiscrete rear left and right signals.
