The startup program looks for these devices in aselected sequence. The startup sequence on your computer is preset from thefactory to have the computer start up from a CD, diskette, or hard disk. This startupsequence allows you to start the diagnostic and recovery programs from theProduct Recovery and Diagnostics CD, use emergency diskettes to recover from astartup failure, and start from your hard disk for normal day-to-day operation. Inmost cases, there is no reason to change the startup sequence.Virus WarningThis setting determines if the BIOS will monitor the boot sector and partition table ofthe hard disk drive for any attempt at modification. If any attempt is made, the BIOSwill halt the system and an error message will appear.
