Thediagnostics not specifically made for this modelmay also report incorrect errors andinformation.The diagnostics program comes on a diskette alongwith this book. This version of PC-Doctor diagnosticsprogram, developed by Watergate for IBM, is theprimary method of testing the computer. You can useit to test the IBM components of the system and someexternal devices. The amount of time required to testcomponents depends on the number of componentsinstalled and selected. The more devices you haveattached to your system and selected in PC-Doctor,the longer the testing will take.Using the Diagnostic Diskette1. Power-off the system unit.2. Insert diagnostic diskette in drive A.3. Power-on the system unit.NOTE: Do not press F1 during POST. If any POSTerrors appear after POST, make a note of theerrors.4. DOS should load. During boot, verify that eachdriver loads successfully. For drivers that do notload successfully, verify that the device driver isassociated with it and is installed properly.5. Diagnostics program (PC-Doctor) will load, thenfollow the screen instructions to operate.
