Removing the bezelWhen you work with some devices, such as additional optical drives, you must firstremove the bezel to access the device.To remove the bezel, complete the following steps:1. Remove the side cover (see “Removing the side cover” on page 17).2. Read the safety information that begins on page v and the “Installationguidelines” on page 15.3. Turn off the server and all attached devices (see “Turning off the server” onpage 10); then, disconnect all power cords and external cables.4. From inside the server, locate the bezel release tab at the bottom of the bezel.Press the bezel release tab, and then pull the bottom of the bezel away fromthe server to disengage the top bezel tabs from the server, and set the bezelaside.Bezel release tabFor instructions for replacing the bezel, see “Installing the bezel” on page 32.18 System x3100 Type 4348: User’s Guide
