The server supports up to 1 TB of system memory. The memory controllersupports error correcting code (ECC) for up to 64 industry-standard PC3-10600,1.8 V, 240-pin, registered, double-data-rate (DDR) III, synchronous dynamicrandom access memory (SDRAM) dual inline memory modules (DIMMs).v Memory ProteXionThe Memory ProteXion feature provides the equivalent of a hot-spare drive in aRAID array. It is based in the memory controller, and it enables the server tosense when a chip on a DIMM has failed and to route the data around the failedchip.v IBM ServerGuide Setup and Installation CDThe ServerGuide Setup and Installation CD, which you can download from theWeb, provides programs to help you set up the server and install a Windowsoperating system. The ServerGuide program detects installed optional hardwaredevices and provides the correct configuration programs and device drivers. For more information, see “Configuring the Broadcom Gigabit Ethernetcontroller” on page 72.v Integrated Trusted Platform Module (TPM)This integrated security chip performs cryptographic functions and stores privateand public secure keys. It provides the hardware support for the TrustedComputing Group (TCG) specification. You can download the software to supportthe TCG specification, when the software is available.v Large data-storage capacity and hot-swap capabilityThe server supports up to eight 1-inch (26 mm) slim-high, 2.5-inch hot-swap harddisk drives that are connected to two SAS backplanes. With the hot-swapfeature, you can add, remove, and replace hard disk drives without turning off theserver.
