After you select this choice, you can set a power-on password or anadministrator password.You can use any combination of up to seven characters (A–Z, a–z, and 0–9) for thepower-on password. Keep a record of the password in a secure place. If you forgetthe power-on password, you can regain access to the server through either of thefollowing methods:v Start the Configuration/Setup Utility program and change the power-onpassword.v Change the jumper position on the CMOS jumper as described in “ClearingCMOS” on page 15.v If both a power-on and administrator password are set, you can type eitherpassword at the password prompt that appears as you start the computer. However,if you want to change any settings in the Configuration/Setup Utility program,you must type the administrator password at the password prompt that appearswhen you try to access the Configuration/Setup Utility program. If you type thepower-on password at this prompt, you will be able to view limited informationin the Configuration/Setup Utility program, but you will not be able to changeany settings.Using the SCSISelect utility program (some models)SCSISelect is a built-in, menu-driven configuration utility program that you canuse to:v View the default SCSI IDsv Locate and correct configuration conflictsThe following sections provide the instructions for starting the SCSISelect Utilityprogram and descriptions of the menu choices that are available.Note: If the server has a redundant arrays of independent disks (RAID) adapterinstalled, use the configuration method that is supplied with the RAIDadapter to view or change SCSI settings for attached devices.Starting the SCSISelect utility programComplete the following steps to start the SCSISelect Utility program:1. Turn on the server.2. When the <<< Press for SCSISelect¬ Utility! >>> promptappears, press Ctrl+A.3. When the Would you like to configure the host adapter or run the SCSIdisk utility? question appears, make your selection and press Enter.4.
