Overview of MSM-6226MSM-6226, a 24 Fast Ethernet + 2 Gigabit L2 Managed Switch, whichimplemented 24 10/100Mbps TP + 2 Gigabit dual media ports with TP/SFP(orGBIC), is a standard switch that meets all IEEE 802.3/u/x/z Gigabit, Fast Ethernetand Ethernet specifications. The switch can be managed through RS-232 serial portvia directly connection, or through Ethernet port using Telnet or Web-basedmanagement unit, associated with SNMP agent. With the SNMP agent, the networkadministrator can logon the switch to monitor, configure and control each port’sactivity in a friendly way. The overall network management is enhanced and thenetwork efficiency is also improved to accommodate high bandwidth applications.In addition, the switch features comprehensive and useful function such as DHCPOption 82, QoS (Quality of Service), Spanning Tree, VLAN, Port Trunking,Bandwidth Control, Port Security, SNMP/RMON and IGMP Snooping capability viathe intelligent software. It is suitable for both metro-LAN and office application.Others the new FW increase support the Power saving for reduce the powerconsumption with "ActiPHY Power Management" and "PerfectReach PowerManagement" two technique. The device also support DHCP Relay function TheDHCP Relay Agent makes it possible for DHCP broadcast messages to be sentover routers that do not support forwarding of these types of messages.
