Page 26 ENGLISH Jandy ® Pro Series, JXi ™ Gas-Fired Pool & Spa Heater | Installation & Operation Manual6.3 Input Voltage and ConversionThe heater comesfactory-wired forinstallation with 240Volt, 60 Hz AC fi eldelectrical supply. Ifthe use of 120 Volt, 60Hz AC fi eld electricalsupply is required, Youmust fi rst change theposition of the voltageselector board on thepower distribution board.• Ensure that allelectrical power isshut off to the heaterat the breaker.• Ensure that the filterpump is off andwill stay off for theremainder of theprocedure.• Follow serviceaccess instructions from Section 6.1.a Locate the power distribution board in the lowerright hand section of the raceway.b Using scissors, clip the zip tie securing the voltageselector board into the power distribution board.c Remove and rotate the voltage selector board 180°.The printed message “FOR 120 VAC” will be displayedabove the card connection pins.d Reinstall voltage selector board.NOTE: The voltage selector board is keyed so that it will fit in onlyone direction for either selected voltage (either side of the board).WARNINGELECTRICAL SHOCK HAZARD. To avoid an electrical shockhazard, which can result in serious injury or death, ensure that allelectrical power to the system is turned off before approaching, inspecting, or troubleshooting any leaking plumbing that may havecaused electrical devices in the surrounding area to get wet.6.4 BondingZodiac Pool Systems, Inc., requires that the appliance beconnected to a “bonding loop” that includes all electricalequipment in the system and on the equipment pad.Bonding lugs must be connected with a solid copper wireat least 8 AWG (6 AWG in Canada) or larger. Failure todo so will void the Zodiac Pool Systems, Inc. warranty.Additionally, in the United States the National ElectricalCode® (NEC ®) and in Canada the Canadian ElectricalCode (CEC), require that all metallic components of apool structure, including reinforcing steel, metal fittingsand above ground components be bonded together(forming an “equipotential bonding grid”) with a solidcopper conductor not smaller than an 8 AWG (6 AWG inCanada).CAUTIONTo prevent premature failure of the appliance resulting from strayvoltages and voltage differentials, the heater must be bonded toother equipment which is part of the pool plumbing system with asolid copper wire not smaller in diameter than 8 AWG (6 AWG inCanada).Section 7. Optional Remote ControlsThe JXi heater controls can be wired for remoteoperation. All Zodiac® AquaLink® Control Systems willpermit the heater to be operated by remote control. Theinstructions in the following sections should be used as ageneral guideline only. Please follow the instructions thataccompany your selected control system thoroughly. If you are setting up a new pool or spa system, or if youhave any questions about your heater control system, please call Jandy technical support at 800.822.7933.Electrical wiring must be in accordance with the latestedition of the National Electrical Code (NEC), ANSI®/National Fire Protection Association® (NFPA70®), unlesslocal code requirements indicate otherwise.Refer to Figure 12 for a complete diagram of wiringconnections and terminals.Consult with Jandy Technical Support, 800.822.7933 forquestions about installing non-Zodiac remote controls.abcdFOR 120 VAC180°
