The heater displayshows: JANDY REMOTE ONLINE PUSH MENUTO DISABLE.• Press MENU to remove message and restorefunctionality to the heater control panel.7.3.2 To Return Control Back to a Connected External Controller• Turn power to the heater OFF then back ON.• Press and hold MENU for 5 seconds to access SetupMode.• Choose JANDY REMOTE.Section 8. Itis equipped with an ignition device, whichautomatically lights the heater. Do NOT try to lightthe burners by hand.• BEFORE OPERATING, smell all around theappliance for gas. Be sure to smell next to the floorbecause some gas is heavier than air and will settleon the floor.8.1.1 What To Do If You Smell Gas• Do not try to light any appliance.• Do not touch any electric switch; do not use anyphone in your building.• Immediately call your gas supplier from a neighbor’sphone. Follow the gas supplier’s instructions.• If you cannot reach your gas supplier, call the FireDepartment.• Use only your hand to switch on or off the gascontrol switch. Never use tools. If the switch appearsbroken or will not move, don’t try to repair it, calla qualified service technician. Force or attemptedrepair may result in fire or explosion.• Do not use this appliance if any part has been underwater. Immediately call a qualified service technicianto inspect the appliance and to replace any part of thecontrol system which has been under water.8.2 First-Time Start-Up ProcedureWARNINGVent pipes and heater tops get hot! These surfaces can causeserious burns. Do not touch these surfaces while the heater is inoperation.Do not use this heater if any part has been under water. Immediatelycall a qualified service technician to inspect the heater and replaceany part of the control system and any gas control which has beenunder water.Should overheating occur or the gas supply fail to shut off, turn offthe manual gas control valve to the heater.Do not attempt repairs on the gas controls or appliance. Tamperingis dangerous and voids all warranties• Confirm that pool water is flowing normally throughthe pool system and equipment.• If it is a new pool or spa installation, operate the filterpump with the heater off long enough to completelyclean the water. This will remove any installationresidue from the water.• Clean the filter before starting the heater.• Start the heater in either Pool or Spa mode. SeeFigure 17.• Start the heater. See Figure 17.• When the heater starts, confirm there is adequatewater flow. See Section 5 for details.
