65.3 Mains connectionMains connection and any extensioncords used must comply withapplicable regulations. The mains voltage must comply withthe information on the machinelicence plate. The mains connection must have a16A slow surge-proof fuse.Only use connection cables markedH07RN-FConnections and repairs to theelectrical equipment may only becarried out by qualified electricians. In case of machine overload the motoroverload cut-off will react. After appr.10 min of cooling themachine can be started again.5.4 Dust connectionBefore initial operation, the machinemust be connected to a dust extractor. The suction should switch onautomatically when the bandsaw isswitched on.The flow rate on the suction port mustbe 20m/sec.Flexible hoses must be of non-flammable quality, and must beconnected to the machine groundsystem.5.5 Starting operationYou can start the machine with thegreen ON-button (N, Fig 5). The redOFF-button (O) on the main switchstops the machine.Fig 5If the yellow magnetic key (M) isremoved the machine cannot beoperated. The motor break can be disabled bypushing the break release button (L).In this mode it is possible to spin thewheels by hand.6. Machine operationCorrect working position:In front of the machine standing in thedirection of cutting.Workpiece handling:Hands placed flat on the workpieceoutside the cutting area.Feed the workpiece towards the sawblade in the direction of the saw line, and cut as required by turning tofollow the line drawn. Push theworkpiece steadily forward; completethe cut as a single movement. Do notdraw the workpiece back, as thiscould cause the sawblade to run off itswheels.Support long and wide workpieceswith helping roller stands.Operating hints:Work only with a sharp and flawlesssawblade.Near the cutting area use a push stickto feed.Use a feeding template to safely guidesmall and narrow workpieces.Use a suitable wedge to prevent roundtimber from turning under thepressure of the cut.Bring the upper blade guide to adistance of approx 5mm to theworkpiece. For the authorized use of themachine observe the appendix A“safe operation“(on the last pages of this operatingmanual)A.1: Performing high cutsA.2.: Performing diagonal cutsA.3.: Tenon cuttingA.4.: Cutting of wedgesA.5.: Curved cutsA.6.: Arc cutsA.7.: Cutting with templateA.8.: Circular cuttingA8.1 Set up without workpieceA8.2 Placing the workpieceA8.3 Machining7. Setup and adjustmentsGeneral note:Setup and adjustment work mayonly be carried out after themachine is protected againstaccidental starting by pulling themains plug.7.1 Changing the sawbladeThe sawblade has to meet thetechnical specification.Choose a suitable sawblade, according to the cutting operation andaccording to the material to be cut.For high rip cuts:- use a wide sawblade (e.g. 30mm),coarse teethed. For narrow curved cuts:- use a narrow sawblade (e.g. 6mm).Check sawblade for flaws (cracks, broken teeth, bending) beforeinstallation. Do not use faultysawblades. The sawblade teeth must point incutting direction (down)Always wear suitable gloves whenhandling sawblades. The sawblades may only be changedwhen the mains plug is pulled!7.2 Blade tracking adjustmentBlade tracking shall never beperformed when the machine isrunning. The sawblade must run on the centreof the rubber tyres (Fig 6).With the knob on the back of themachine the blade tracking can beadjusted.
