8Fig 147.6 Blade Speed adjustmentThe bandsaw will operate at 500 or1000 m/min (Fig 15)1000 m/minFor standard cutting operations.500m/minGives higher blade force, for high ripcuts and cutting hard wood.Fig 15To change the speed:Disconnect machine from powersource.Loosen the four hex nuts (A, Fig 16)on the motor plate.Fig 16Use the tension screw (B) to releasethe belt tension.Slide the belt onto the appropriate setof pulleys.Re-tension the belt.Pushing down with moderate pressureat the centre of the belt should give adeflection of approx 12mm (Fig 17).Fig 17Securely tighten all four hex nuts onthe motor plate (A).7.7 Folding the bandsaw bladeHold the bandsaw blade in one hand.Let it hang down vertically and hold itto the floor with a foot. Turn your handthrough 360° (a complete circle), asyou move it down towards the floor.8. Maintenance and inspectionGeneral notes:Maintenance, cleaning and repairwork may only be carried out afterthe machine is protected againstaccidental starting by pulling themains plug.Repair and maintenance work on theelectrical system may only be carriedout by a qualified electrician.Clean the machine regularly.Inspect the proper function of the dustextraction daily. All protective and safety devices mustbe re-attached immediately aftercompleted cleaning, repair andmaintenance work.Defective safety devices must bereplaced immediately.Inspect the correct blade tensionregularly. Take away the blade tensionif the machine is not in use for alonger time period.Inspect the blade guide adjustmentregularly.Check bandsaw blades regularly forfaults. Replace a defective sawbladesimmediately.Wheels:The rubber tyre of the wheels must becleaned regularly. The upper wheel support must belubricated regularly.Belt Tension:The belt tension must be inspectedregularly.Pushing down with moderate pressureat the centre of the belt should give adeflection of approx 12mm (Fig 17).Belt Alignment:The drive belt can be aligned with oneor more of the four set screws (Fig 18)Fig 18Place a straight edge against the faceof the pulleys to inspect.Adjust the angle of the motor until thedrive belt is aligned (Fig 19)Fig 19Securely tighten all four hex nuts onthe motor plate (A, Fig 16).Motor Break:The motor break works electro-mechanically (break motor). If breaking time should exceed 10seconds, the motor break assemblyneeds to be replaced.
