19Preset settingsThe precision miter gauge has preset settings atthe 45º left, 90º and 45º right positions. To selectone of these settings:1. Release the lock handle (B, Fig. 14).2. Flip the plate stop (D) up so it rests on themiter bar (C).3. Adjust the body (A) until the stop screw (G)for the selected angle presses against theplate stop (D).4. Tighten the lock handle (B).Note: If any of the preset settings are notaccurately indicated on the scale:1. Verify first that the miter gauge is properlycalibrated (see Calibrating the miter gaugeabove).At each preset setting that does not correctlyindicate the setting:2. Loosen the lock nut (H, Fig. 14).3. Adjust the set screw (G) until the correctsetting is indicated.4. Unlock the spindle (see Unlocking theSpindle on page 17).Before starting the machine,make sure that the spindle is unlocked.Failure to comply can cause damage to themachine.2. Set the forward/reverse switch (C) asrequired.Do not operate theforward/reverse switch while the motor isrunning. Wait until the spindle comets to acomplete stop.Figure 153.
