Enable/Disable L7 persistency state failoverNote: This feature is only available on a HA cluster configurationWhen an L7 persistency option has been enabled, the active LoadMaster will automatically send connectioninformation to the standby machine so that if the active machine fails, the standby machine can take over theprocessing of requests as if nothing had happened. The connection information is sent using a Multicastprotocol. The parameters for this may be changed under “Multicast Configuration”.This toggle option will either enable or disable the transfer of L7 connection information. If this feature takestoo much bandwidth or is not required, then it may be safely disabled.5.7. Enable/Disable L4 connection state failoverNote: This feature is only available on a HA cluster configurationWhen a Virtual Service is not using persistency or only IP source address persistency, the active LoadMasterwill automatically send connection information to the standby machine so that if the active machine fails, thestandby machine can take over the processing of requests as if nothing had happened. The connectioninformation is sent using a Multicast protocol. Only the Ethernet interface parameter under “MulticastConfiguration” has any affect on this option. This toggle option will either enable or disable the transfer of L4 connection information. If this feature takestoo much bandwidth or is not required, then it may be safely disabled.5.8. Multicast ConfigurationNote: This option is only available on a HA cluster configuration when the L7 persistency state failover or L4connection failover features are enabled. With this option, the multicast address and Ethernet interface, which is to be used for the transfer ofconnection information, can be changed. When using the LoadMaster in single-armed mode, the Ethernetinterface cannot be changed.5.9. HA timeoutNote: This option is only available on a HA cluster configuration. With this option, the time it takes a HA cluster to detect a failure can be adjusted. A value between and 1 and5 can be set. The default value is 1. A lower value will detect failures sooner, while a higher value gives betterprotection against a DOS attack.6. Packet Filter & Access Control Lists6.1. Access control ListsThe LoadMaster supports a “blacklist” Access Control List system. Any host or network entered into the AccessControl List will be blocked from accessing any service provided by the LoadMaster. The LoadMaster also has a packet filter. When enabled the packet filter blocks all IP packets which are notdirected at a configured port. The Access Control list is only enabled when the packet filter is enabled. By default the Access Control List isdisabled. This means that all source IP addresses are accepted by the LoadMaster.
