Check that the protection shield is snuggly and properly adjusted (Fig. 27).- Make sure the protection shield buckle is locked in place.- The protection shield is contacting your child and there is no gapbetween the protection shield and your child's torso.- A snuggly adjusted LATCH lower anchor belt should not allow any slack.The LATCH belt should lie in a relatively straight line and be flat, withoutsagging or twist. The protection shield should contact the child but notpress on the child's flesh or push the child's body into an unnaturalposition.Removing your child:Open the protection shield by releasing the protection shield buckle, rotatethe protection shield across the front of the car seat and place theprotection shield on the vehicle seat beside the car seat.Remove your child.To remove car seat from the vehicle:Press adjustment bar and loosen top tetherbelt.Unhook tether hook by pressing up on flatspring (Fig. 28; No. 1) and sliding tetherhook off tether anchor (Fig. 28; No. 2).While pressing red release button onLATCH connector (Fig. 29; No. 1) pullconnector out and off LATCH anchor(Fig. 29; No. 2).NOTE; Placing knee in car seat and pressdown will make release of LATCHconnector easier.22Fig. 28Fig. 29
